cast01 Resume The cast01 resume offers a review of recurring issues at cast01//living in mixed reality conference, which took place at Schloss Birlinghoven, Sankt Augustin/Bonn from Sept 21-22, 2001. For this resume, a number of issues that were brought up during the conference have been identified and summarized. Six of these - Mixed Reality, The Disappearing Computer, Mobile Computing, Body as Interface, Quality of Experience, and Strategie - are offered as observations, describing trends that emerged clearly through the course of the conference, laying out the current state of work in our field. Four issues - Culture-Art-Science-Technology, Art and Audience, Shared Reality, and Education - were identified as key issues that came up repeatedly during the course of the conference. The discussion section - taking place on Sept 23 in the Kunstmuseum Bonn - summarizes the response of audience participants to these and related issues. › PDF herunterladen (englisch)

netzspannung.org -an internet media lab for knowledge discovery in mixed realities The MARS-Exploratory Media Lab at the Fraunhofer Institute for Media Communication is developing a model for an on-line media laboratory as Competence Centre for digital art, culture and technology. To this end, the Internet platform netzspannung.org is being developed as an open distributed toolbox for knowledge discovery and experimentation with networked media spaces accompanied by community information channels and media strategies connecting processes in virtual space with real places. The first online demonstrator of netzspannung.org explores the creation of an architecture for visualising and exploring the interrelations between media art, culture, science and technology. › PDF herunterladen (englisch)
