Abstract
This paper briefly describes an interactive art installation, titled Coexistence, that blurs the boundaries between physical reality and virtual reality, between biological life and artificial life, between performer and audience. Coexistence questions our fundamental understanding of reality while exploring new forms of interface and experience design using networked wearable technology. This work includes innovative approaches to interaction, performance and immersion utilizing see-through head mounted displays and panoramic video. An important component involves a unique sensory interface that integrates breathing sensors and haptic feedback.
