Statement
The results of the image-based registration techniques (described in: Paper_Archeoguide_Stricker et al.) hold the best promise for the application of Augmented Reality in sensitive outdoors areas such as cultural heritage sites where minimizing the intrusion to the site by the system is crucial. The first results of the overall approach in user trials that are currently being performed in Olympia are very encouraging.
