Inhaltliche Beschreibung

'Saw between the lines' 2003. 5 C-Print illuminated Photographs (75x100cm).
'Saw between the lines' is a visual comparison of digital/analogue mediums and their structures. Photographs of a television together with a digital drawing, portray strange and unfamiliar picture structures. The images draw attention to the importance of observing and rearranging mediums and their structural elements (Pixel, Punkt und Raster). Producing and manipulating visual frameworks create new chaotic systems. How does the evolution of picture technology and content stand in relationship with the experimental nature of artistic investigation?
Employing on the one hand digital and analogue structures, the work puts on the other hand these structures in question. What is the importance of developing new picture structures with the knowledge that these structures influence the way in which pictures are perceived? How will pictures continue to evolve now that we find ourselves seeing with a post digital consciousness? What is the relationship between an image's content and the way in which it is woven?
