Technical Description
Interaktive DVD mit ROM- und Videopartition. ROM-Teil als Director-Applikation mit dynamischer Navigation in Flash 5, Textebenen in HTML, zum Abspielen der Videos wird QuickTime 5 vorausgesetzt. Internetanbindung des ROM-Teils an Datenbank und Forum über SQL/PHP-Lösungen.
Die Kombination verbreiteter Basistechnologien bietet durch Skalierbarkeit eine Übertragbarkeit des Ansatzes auf andere Themen und Lernumgebungen. Eine im ROM-Teil aktivierbare Tracking-Funktion dient der Evaluierung des Lernprozesses. Im Videoteil findet man die erste E-Learning-Lösung auf DVD-Basis mit teilweise komplexer Interaktion, die man bisher nur vom PC kannte, realisiert mit Sonic Fusion. In didaktisch wichtigen Bereichen werden die vollen Interaktionsmöglichkeiten der DVD-Spezifikaktion für E-Learning-Ansätze genutzt. Interaktives Video in hoher Qualität ist ein Novum im Lernbereich. Eine Online-Anbindung aus dem DVD-Videoteil ist in Planung.
Hardware / Software
The DVD is compatible with Windows, Mac and standalone DVD players. It allows for two different modes:
TV set with DVD player, for access to the video components, to be supplemented by excerpts from the interactive ROM. The format is mainly video and addresses the layperson. The interactive dimension is limited to controls available at this level.
PC-based, for access to the entire DVD-ROM (ca. 4.6GB), with various interactive tasks at three levels: the general theme (experience), interaction and entertainment (edutainment), and knowledge acquisition (information). Access to the Internet is provided, with the possibility to comment on the examples provided and to communicate, from the DVD, with other users and researchers.
DVD: QuickTime 5 is required for playback of the ROM partition.
