Abstract

The sense of touch, as one of our basic senses, seems to loose its meaning in the context of our non-physical tv-, computer- and internet-area. While these forms of media provide almost exclusively visual and auditive reception, the tactile feedback remains unused. This work tries to reinforce the lost sense by simulating touch-feedback by audio-visual stimulation in order to bring the "feel" of virtual material back to the user.
