Abstract
Aurélien Froment’s video work "Fury" was not created in the context of an exploration of the computer game genre but rather of action film. We are witnesses to fighting that takes place in a cleared warehouse. Blood has already flowed and some of the "tough guys" have already hit the floor. The others are facing off with unmistakable gestures and expressions of belligerence. But the scene is frozen, suspended in this moment of total tension, just seconds before the next round of slaughter takes place before our eyes. The camera like an invisible, weightless eye, it traverses and encircles the adversaries who, paralysed as they are, have the appearance of dumb comic figures....
